About Us
Smoopy is a baby-led weaning brand built for modern Indian families.
We design feeding and teething essentials that are safe, ergonomic, and thoughtfully
made to handle the real-life mess of mealtimes.
Hi, I’m Aneri and my two worlds collided: Babies and Design
An architect by education, designer by obsession, and the very lucky bua of one curious little boy. Smoopy didn’t begin at a desk or in a studio. It began the day my nephew was born. As I watched his parents navigate early parenthood, I noticed something: they were trying to piece together baby products from four different countries—none of which truly fit the way Indian families eat, live, or raise kids. The rest were hand-me-downs that just weren’t built with babies (or Indian food) in mind.
The moment it became real
I couldn’t stop thinking about it. My background in architecture had trained me to solve problems—to design systems that are as functional as they are beautiful, and always rooted in real life. And suddenly, I saw this as a design problem that mattered. So I started sketching. Testing. Prototyping. I wanted products that were safe, ergonomic, joyful—and built to work in Indian homes with Indian food and Indian parenting styles. Not imported compromises. Not make-do solutions.
That’s how Smoopy was born: from a place of love, curiosity, and the quiet conviction that design can make daily life better—especially for the tiniest ones. Welcome to my most meaningful project yet.
Why Parents Choose Smoopy
Ritu David (Founder at Data Duck)
As a new mom, with Smoopy, the suction bowls and plates staying put instantly lowered my anxiety, and the ergonomically designed spoons made self-feeding feel safe instead of chaotic. I love that Smoopy is built around exploration, not perfection; it has genuinely turned our mealtimes into calmer, happier experiments with food.
Rebecca Noronha
I’ll admit, I bought Smoopy for the aesthetics first. The colours, the shapes—everything looks so happy without being loud. But once we started using it, I realised it’s not just pretty. It’s actually designed properly for little hands.
Nidhi Lodha
I was honestly more nervous about starting solids than my baby was. The first few meals were messy, stressful, and I kept second-guessing everything. Smoopy just made it… simpler. My son actually tries to eat on his own now instead of fighting the spoon.
Vishal Udeshi
I had no clue what to gift a baby and just picked Smoopy. Turned out to be the best decision—my sister keeps telling me how much they use it. Feels good to finally gift something useful.
